Guiding Capital is a private investment company with a difference. For us, when we’re considering an investment, the soft issues such as the people involved and the dreams they have are just as important as the hard issues like cash and contracts.
Our investment range is typically £400,000 to £1 million and we back businesses across a range of industries – our only caveat is that we understand the businesses we’re investing in.
Our preferences for new investments are:Currently we are not investing in:
- Development capital to fund growth
- MBO’s
- MBI’s
- Retirement sales
- Start-ups
- Early stage opportunities

A further essential ingredient is a strong management team who have ambitious yet achievable goals. We like to be a little more hands on than other investment firms, but only to complement management, not constrain them.
Finally, we’re a private investment firm so it’s our own money we’re investing. This allows us to be flexible, creative and decisive in both our deal structures and exit timeframes.
